It’s very fitting that the Brkthru Detroit Hub is the first group this year to perform a community service project for our “31 Days of Service” initiative.
Ten Brkthru team members from Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio worked planting 13 trees for an urban park renewal project with The Greening of Detroit. Since 1989, this nonprofit has planted more than 166,000 trees in the City of Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park along city and residential streets and within parks and playgrounds.
“It was rewarding to spend a day planting trees with The Greening of Detroit as part of Brkthru’s ‘31 Days of Service’ ,” said Kathleen DeMers, Event Coordinator. “We performed a much-needed service for our home city, and we each learned valuable tips about proper tree planting!”
Brkthru celebrates its anniversary each year in May with a commitment to give back to the communities in which we live with “31 Days of Service.” We do this by supporting all employee contributions to their local communities and as another demonstration of Brkthru’s competitive advantage of service.
Contribution and Caring are two of the Brkthru Core Values. Thank you, Brkthru Detroit Hub!
